It'll take them more manhours finding users than what they can gain financially. |

we can prove use back to 97. so can 1000 others. they won't get anywhere with it. :1orglaugh |
Yip and I invented mouse overs in 1998...
I also invented displaing java in your task bar in 1999. I also invented clicking on a thumb and having it open a larger picture. You ass is grass SD.:winkwink: 12clicks is right this is kind of scary |

I think the first pop-unders were in use back in 1999. I challenge anybody to show proof that there was a single pop-under in use before 1999. If anybody has any "proof" that they were using pop-unders before 1999, they should post it here, because otherwise the patent COULD issue. I don't think there is any such proof out there. |
i invented gay porn.
|
dude, I'm sure your a wiseoldone so why don't you take a ride on the wayback machine and check out the blur consoles in use then.
I love these guys who post without a clue. |

groups.google.com
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=ja...bn.com&rnum=10 summary, a usenet post on december 11th, 1997 used blur to try to generate a popunder. of course, it was a porn site. |

hmmm... since when is archive.org the difinitive source of history of the web? if i have a file on my pc with a popunder, and its datestamp is 1997, then thats when i wrote it. fuck archive.org [/QUOTE] It doesn't matter when you wrote it. The patent will issue unless you made public the fact that you had invented it. Them's the rules. You have to be able to prove that you released it to the public in early 1999 or before to stop the patent. Quote:

how can they prove they invented it for that matter?
its all bullshit |

first there were no blurs back then, now a popup that blurs isn't really a popbehind. hahaha. just sit on the porch when you don't know what you're talking about.:1orglaugh |

I don't want to come down on you, but I think you should retract your statement about me posting without a clue. I know what I'm talking about. Quote:
I suggest that if we really want to blow out the patent, we have the big players put up a reward on Bountyquest.com . If there is anything that was in use, a $25,000 reward will bring it to light! If the patent issues, it could cost each big player hundreds of thousands of $$$ per year. We should try to stop it right now. |
'A Web site operator of an adult site, for example, may have used pop-under advertising prior to 2000, but the technology may not have been documented. Someone would have to find reference to such a practice in an article or journal to undermine the patent claim. '
taken from the article. i know intergal had a blur console for webmasters to use in around 98. with archive.org i'm sure there is some documented use for pop unders. so someone should challenge this if they already haven't. |

not that I love 12clicks or even like siding with him, but if you bet him in this case you'll loose and loose big time.
