Bought my condo the day of my 23rd birthday

crockett 07-22-2006 04:29 PM

I bought my first house on my 21st birthday back when you had to work hard for your money.. Before this easy internet stuff.

Then I lost it by the time I was 25 because I was trying to do too much at once with too many businesses. :pimp But hey at least I can laugh about that now..

baddog 07-22-2006 04:30 PM

I was 23.

zigx 07-22-2006 05:26 PM

JFK 07-22-2006 05:55 PM

I owned a few of them @25:pimp

myjah 07-22-2006 06:02 PM

Got my first home at 21, foreclosure so it was an excellent deal at 90k.

Herb Kornfield 07-22-2006 06:06 PM

24 - Cost me $67k. Sold it 1 year later once I realized how mcuh condo living sucked balls. I hated the place the day I bought it ... dont get stoned and go house shopping I learned the hard way.

26 - Bought my home I have now for $99k that 7 years later is selling for close to $300k for the same house in this area. Fucking insane ... I'd never pay $300k for this place .....

Looking for my next house once the market here collapses in on itself on the cheap since there will be a SHITLOAD of foreclosures to pick from. :thumbsup

J. Falcon 07-22-2006 06:09 PM

Nah, I was thinking more like 2-3 years.

jayeff 07-22-2006 07:13 PM

I was 18. It was a small 4-room cottage in the east of England which cost me the princely sum of 700 stirling (that would have been around $1500, if memory serves) :)

If that seems ridiculous, at the time my family owned several streets of workers' houses in the north, most of which had been occupied by the same families for many years. Thus they were rent controlled, with the rent set at around 55 cents a week. Eventually the local council got us off the hook by buying them to build a multi-storey car park in their place.

E$_manager 07-22-2006 07:35 PM
