FREE BANDWIDTH - MEDIA DELIVERY PLATFORM TESTING - Up to 100,000GB

We're currently rolling out a stable beta of our media delivery platform. We need high-volume sites for our testing - as such, Voxel dot Net is giving away up to 100,000GB of our Premium bandwidth with absolutely ZERO cost to you.

The only changes required will be minor DNS modification or url changes to your videos/images.

If your site is doing at least 20,000GB in an average month, please contact me via email (smachiz [at] voxel.net) or via telephone (212-812-4194) if you are interested.

I don't follow - what exactly do you mean?

Big_Red 07-24-2006 09:36 AM

wow that is some mad bandwidth. good luck!

elron 07-24-2006 10:00 AM

i dont see why anyone would do that . if someone already owns high traffic sites it means he's already paying for this usage to his host . now suppose he moves his bandwidth you , do you think his current host will charge him less ?

Setup fees are silly. Like it really costs $XX to connect a couple of network cables and flip a power switch. :)

If somebody has a high traffic site moving it to a host that might be unstable just to save a little bit of money would be wreckless...

Jay,

It's Cogent mixed with our substantial public and private peering relationships. Based on my experience, and feedback from customers, I'd pit our 'Value' network against many providers 'Premium' networks.

Best,
Sam

It all depends how they're paying for bandwidth and what their Committed Rate is.

Depends on the site - for a lot of people, you're absolutely correct. However, there are a lot of sites out there (user driven video sites for example) that are completely free, and only make money from ad revenue. Saving $10,000 in a month doesn't look so bad to a lot of them! :thumbsup

You're right - and the servers, switch ports, remote reboot ports, serial console ports, air conditioning, power, space and staffing are all paid off with your first $139/mo payment :upsidedow

Oh - and on top of all that - we have to make money too.

The setup fees go into amortizing the cost of turn-up in exchange for a lower monthly fee. We give both options with our servers - so you really have your choice. It makes sense if you plan to stay with your host long-term. Why continue paying an additional $5-10/mo for the life of your server if you could pay $49 up-front. Whether or not a provider offers you a setup fee or no setup fee, it's factored into their pricing equation.
