pcAnywhere by Symanted Good choice or any alternatives???
 

Anybody god good or bad info on it?

Its good for remote assistance through firewalls and routers, password , encryption to remote hardware....but doing alot of computer techie work im really not happy with any Symantec program as they have had many issues in the past

ive used it..not to bad...easy to use...netmeeting pretty much the same thing going and its free :thumbsup

i love it, but VNC Ultra is smaller and faster :thumbsup

iv heard horror stories. and i know it once had a bad vulnerability.

i posted same question a while ago and got no good answers.

I gotta tell you, I'm using it for basically the same reason you are (I assume)and I tried all of them, logmein.com seems to be the easiest to set up, never fails, never locks up, no problems at all. And fast too.

why not use remote desktop that comes with winxp it has always been reliable for me.

That's what I was gonna say. Remote desktop gives you full control over everything and you don't need any extra software. PCAnywhere was a good program back before windows had it's own stuff, but now it's just overhead and one more security risk.

does it save passwords like remote desktop does? when i used vnc in past that was one thing i always found annoying.

Windows comes with remote desktop.. Whats wrong with it?

I used pcanywhere in the past and really liked it.

mstsc or remote desktop first if win>win
vnc as a 2ndary alternative (www.realvnc.com) or win>linux
tb2 blows, unless you need to access a mac, but now there is osxvnc, which is alt 1 for mac's

it sucks, if you just need remote access vnc is much better ..

Damnit I installed ultra VNC but I don't have another connection to really test it on.

I used to use Radmin with great results.

Ghost is the only symantec program worth a shit.

VNC or you have remote administrator built in that you can allow sessions with etc...PCAnywhere sucks donkey balls...

Its really slow for me.
