Question: How do I own some internet fuck legally?
Hey guys..
You might have seen my thread the other day about a hijacked domain - finally got it back, with much help from Sedo and Namecheap. I've been inconvenienced enough to want to take this further - but don't have much experience w/ the legal side of things - and GFY is full of lawyers ;) Summary: -User installed custom backdoor / trojan on my machine -Captured my email password -Downloaded and then deleted 70,000 emails -Used passwords from those emails to access my namecheap account and transfer some domains of his choice to his own namecheap account -Proceed to list the domains on Sedo for sale The domain brings in / brought it a decent income, and obviously that's fucked, not to mention the intentional deletion of all the emails etc. From my logs, I think the guy is in Ontario - I'd love Sedo / Namecheap to provide real info about the guy, but I'm not sure if their privacy policy allows it without a subpoena. So what do you think.. worth taking it further? I'm in the US for a month now, I could have the chance to execute some proceedings I guess. What's the proceedure for those who have been there :D Thanks! Simon |
Damn bro, sorry for ya!

I'm sorry to hear that, Simon. I don't know the legal issues, but I hate to see you're having trouble. Have you gotten the domains back now?
|
|
I don't know what you can do, legally, but I wish you much luck in getting back at the son of a bitch that jacked your domain(s).
