YARGH! embed a flash movie in the file and resave it. Not many people do .mov's though, may be better off doing drm.

I'll have a complete suite of stuff soon. In the meantime do the flash trick. Plenty of tuts out there.

StickyGreen 07-29-2006 07:06 PM

let me know if you find out how to do it with avi's and mpeg's... :x

stickyfingerz 07-29-2006 08:45 PM

Can always just use a bit of javascript and make the link when click open in a new window. Have the javascript set the window size slightly larger than the movie, and disable the window to be resized. That will work with any embedded movie. .flv is the way to go though!!

Babagirls 07-29-2006 09:19 PM

uploading porn on limewire, aye? lol

TheSenator 07-29-2006 09:26 PM

.WMV is easy....
you need a programmer who deals in 010101010.. assembly language.
to do .mov and mpeg

It can be done...

My consultant fee is min 10,000USD to connect you with somebody who can do the job.

Kimo 07-30-2006 04:28 AM

Google. A two sec search will give you the answer. Windows media encoder for wmv, avi etc. This doesn't work anymore though as scripting in newer versions of media player is off by default.

For .mov files I already said how to do it. Use flash to create a flash movie with an embedded url, then just add that into your movie project and resave the file.

Foolproof way is drm, there are drm services that you can use for cheap.

Someone here posted a tutorial for .movs just use the search.

Google.

MikesTraffic 07-30-2006 03:27 PM

I can do it with any media you want :)

Windows media player 10 will still do it, but the movie has to be embedded in a page. Im not using .wmv for my sites anymore so if someone wants to know how Ill spill the beans on it. Hit me on ICQ if you must know. My one site Im redoing in .flv, but have all .wmv there currently. At the end of the sponsors trailier it auto redirects them to the join page for the sponsor, or tour page, whatever I set it to. Ill help people out on this, since no one would tell me on here when I asked, and it was very very hard to find the answer.

Embedded in a page is worthless for p2p.

Yes for p2p it sure is :)

Chio The Pirate 07-30-2006 04:42 PM

The process is the same though. Search for url flip.

YARGH! I think it was earlier than 9, but not sure. DRM doesn't have these problems though, and aside from the large .mov file sizes that's pretty easy too.

It all depends on what you're trying to do. There are always a number of different solutions to one problem.

p2pbuilder will include a suite of tools useful for p2p promo.

Chio, it's one thing to give helpful advice, but why give out info that few people know and which is so vital to an already saturated advertising medium? (and to an entire board even... one on one over icq would be one thing)

Just to be "popular"?

I really didn't tell anyone *how* to do it. As for trying to be popular... that's the silliest thing I've heard all day and I have a 2 year old :1orglaugh .

When I started in 96 some people helped me alot in the beginning. I like to return the favor if I can.

Karma. Try it sometime.
