I won't drink for a month

Lately I get drunk so quickly with the same amount I used to drink without getting drunk, any idea why is that?

Being tired has to do with it?

I will not drink for a month and after that I'll just have 2-3 drinks and that's it.

hey, I didn't drink for 7,5 month!! starting from 20th nov 2005 untill july.. I was going to the gym 4-5 times every week and gained a great deal muscle mass.. sadly I lost it all in about a month of working and just sitting on my ass.. I think I've lost about 5 kg.. =(

The thing is that I drink almost every Friday and Saturday. A friend was telling me that it could have something to do with the alcohol in your system or something like that, I am not sure about it.

Ya I know exactly why that is...don't you remember health class in college?

When you first start drinking in your life you usually get drunk fairly fast as your liver isn't used to the new type of poision it needs to clean from your system.....as you continue to drink you slowly build up a tolerance as your body produces more of the enzymes needed to clear the alcohol...however when people continue to drink a lot (get drunk once a week or so) for several years your liver eventually becomes over worked and basically gives up...which drops the levels of alcohol clearing enzyme and thus lows the amount of alcohol you need to get drunk.

This is usually a sign of the first stage of complete liver failure and should be checked out by a doctor.

Also, remember that it takes on average 6-8 days for your body to clear all of the alcohol from your system after one night of getting drunk. therefore, if you get drunk once a week, you're actually never at 100% mental capacity :)

....the Doctor has spoken =p

Good luck.

MediaGuy 07-30-2006 05:20 PM

taking a break is a good idea... especially if your body can't rebuild itself properly on a routine basis - i mean, if you don't get much sleep and you don't eat well, got stress from working too much, etc... a drink is one thing, a few is too many :)

I drink 10-14 Carlsberg Elephant every day and only get 2 hours sleep, I suffer from insomnia, so yours must be fatic!
