Open an offshore bank account by internet ?

Many websites offers to open an offshore bank account by the net.
No need to go there, they take care of everything.

Are they any good ?

Any experience with this ? A good company to refer ?

Any country to refer ? I don't trust Latvia...

I was in Switzerland last month, they don't open bank account for offshore coutries any more.

Sure, its how anyone would open a bank account anyways - apply to an internet website :winkwink:

Seriously, what does this website company do? Access the bank online and fill in a new account application - that will be $750, thanks. That might be called "taking care of everything". Then client does the main work including photo ID's, "know-your-customer" information blah blah.

Are they any good? Not particularly. Company to refer? None, it's a lawyers job if it must be third party. Country? When we don't trust complete countries, it's going to be harder to trust any bank..

Opening a bank account for any person legitimately offshore is little different to opening any normal banking facility, tho OS banks are inclined to want to know more personal data to cover their ass.

True Kimo - least not now. There used to be "numbered accounts" in Switerland and a few other locations in the past - but that no longer exists. Any bank wants to know who they are dealing with.

It makes sense. I thought though that these people had a real person-to-person-relationship with the bank's staff they suggest.

I will try to reach directly some banks and see if they reply...

All of you must have big money to trust 3rd party websites !

You guys would trust a third party website for your transactions and not deal directly with the offshore banks?

Or did I just misunderstand ?

Na man - they just fill in the forms online with the bank. Even worse is when the net company is onshore and doing this stuff - basically they can end up in possession of very sensitive data which *may* be of interest to revenue services.

Better to deal direct with a bank - and cheaper, - it costs nothing.

So will this help me play poker on the internet once that stupid new law goes through?
