Does upgrading your lifestyle force you to be better at what you do ?

Don't do it. Only buy when you get a good value on something. Expensive goods are often just that expensive and not always the best produce, nor best value for the money.

Be prudent, frugal and take care with your money and it will take good care of you.

As soon as I buy something nice I own it. Then I want something else. it never stops.

Learn to treat yourself when it's worthy. Like finishing a big job or getting a nice check.

While i do get your point, you seem awfully extreme about it...whats the point of generating wealth if you dont take any personal matterial advantages out of it?
