Is there a way to merge Firefox bookmarks?
I have two computers, one I use all the time has most of my bookmarks, and the laptop has some, but there are bookmarks that are on one and not the other.
Is there a way to merge the two together? I know I can set up individual users and just go back and forth, but that is a PITA if there is an easier way to do it. |
Not sure about any "merge" features, but you can always add them into the bookmarks.html file which is located somewhere like C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\SOME.PROFILE.FOLDER (where USER is whatever windows login you're using).

hmmm, that is an idea . . . thanks, not sure why I did not think of that . . . of course, then I need a proggy to remove duplicate lines of text, but that shouldn't be too difficult. How about bringing the stored passwords? |

You shouldn't be using FireFox. It's probably the worst browser I've ever seen in my life.

You have no idea how many different passwords I have to keep track of. Literally hundreds. FF has made my life significantly easier. |

Try GoodSync y'all. www goodsync com :thumbsup
If by "merging" you mean syncing that is. And you can use it for any 2 directories with any filetype. Simple and powerful :) And thanks for the RoboForm plug as well ppl :winkwink: |
You can use bookmark manager to import them to each other. There is also as mentioned above some addon extensions to do a sync.

You need to pick up google firefox browser sync. Developed by google, its hands down the best sync extension for firefox.
Will sync your bookmarks, cookies, stored passwords browsing history and a few other things.. once you have this you wont want to mess with anything else. Dead simple to set up too. http://www.google.com/tools/firefox/browsersync/ |
Oh yea forgot to mention too, it saves your open tabs whenever you quite firefox so you can restore your session later... the catch it syncs that too.. so when I close down firefox at work, I can go home and restore the browsing session I was using at work!!

Okay, I have copied the signons.txt file to the new laptop, but it doesn't seem to recognize it. All the bookmarks are here. Any suggestions? |
