Legal Question - SERIOUS THREAD

Okay question about internet TV...

If one wanted to broadcast live TV online...

I believe its illegal to broadcast TV channels that you pay for thru cable tv...

But is it illegal to broadcast TV thats available via antennas? Like ABC...FOX...CBS...the local channels...

How does that work? Anyone know? Yes I know I should seek legal advice...But I figured I'd ask in here as well :-P

Thanks!

I'd say, speaking with no legal education, that you can't redistribute a broadcast you don't own.

To re-broadcast it for free without adding any of your own advertising might be O.K. in some sense, just "amplifying" their "signal"? lol ... but as soon as you make any profit from it, I'm sure there would be significant legal ramifications.

If you have to ask such a question at GFY then not only do you need the advice of a good lawyer but I think you need a clue.
