No it isn't. The laws explicitly state it's only illegal to make commission from percentages lost/gained from such affiliations. I run about 30 gambling related sites hosted here in the U.S. and our lawyer has examined it all and it's all legit. :2 cents:

thanx for the info. specifically i am referring to http://www.gamingincome.com/ which i am promoting betonusa.com. so there shouldn't be any problems there right?

StickyGreen 08-07-2006 03:49 PM

it says this in their terms: "As an affiliate you will benefit from any players you refer to the casino for as long as they are playing. As your Affiliate ID is linked to their account, each time they play, we effectively track their losses to you. This is called residual or lifetime income."

so that would be illegal to promote from the u.s.?

Yes, that is illegal as you are making commissions from percentages lost/gained. So watch how you promote them. Make sure to only use the basic promotions like click through percentages, basic percentages from money deposited and so on.

I have temporarily pulled most of my gaming sponsor links. That guy who was recently nabbed during his stop in the US also had a marketing company in Florida taken down with him. I do not know the details, but could they have been an affiliate in his sponsor program?

That is a must. Consult with your attorney before you fully launch your aff program sticky.

Need to check your local laws Sticky. There are some laws in some states where action has been taken against webmasters "promoting" gambling sites - Texas is an example.
