Windows error after new XP updates

This is interesting, haven?t gotten a Windows error in a long time now but just got one after updating with one of its ?critical? patches.

I?ve never even heard of this error before lol? I?ve had the error msg twice so far so I?m probably going to do a rollback if I can?t figure out what?s causing it. The errors are happening when I?m trying to move files from drive to drive; happened when I tried to copy to a thumbdrive and when I tried to copy to another HD.

Any ideas before I rollback?

Empty out the directory and then try to delete it?

I think a lot of people are tired of these constant Microsoft updates. Its gotten to the point of insanity and you run the risk of fucking up your system and conflicts with other software from this screwball OS.

No... anytime I tried to copy any files from any hard drive to another (including usb thumbdrive) I got that error. Restarting didn't help; it was something in the newest Windows updates that caused the msg. It's kinda like those error messages you get when a folder is being used by Explorer.exe but I have no folder "port-numbers" on my computer, nor have I ever. After I rolled back XP to a previous state before the new critical updates, everything works fine again, I'm able to copy files to and from hard drives with ease. Oh well, everything is working smooth again.

two updates ago, i suddenly started receving an error that, when i looked it up, basically said i was using an illegal copy of windows. well, as it happens i'm not. so now when i see an update, i just don't download it.

Yeah -- except I wasn't trying to delete a folder. I was trying to copy files from one hard drive to another. I tried multiple files/folders and hard drives even (including a USB thumbdrive) and every time it gave that error, didn't matter what file or folder I tried to copy. Restarting didn't help w/error either, only way to fix it was to rollback XP back before it did the update of these new 'critical' updates.
