Lombard, IL
Irving, TX
Bloomfield, Michigan
Independence, MO
Torrance, Chino, City Of Industry, Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Fransico, CA
Memphis, TN

Wow are computer sales slow?

flashbang 08-09-2006 05:18 AM

no CompUSA is a joke of a company, charging $29 for a little power adapter (compare at $1.29), and $35 for a 7' cat 5 cable (compare at $7.99), selling low quality systems for retail prices, and absolutely no clue on the software biz... Ever go in those stores, it has more xbox games than computer goods, and shelves and shelves of worthless media. and mousepads, lol

Uh... you just described *every* retail store buddy. They all charge ridiculous amounts for accessories like that, if they didn't they most likely couldn't continue to do retail business. CompUSA is one of the few stores that actually carry up-to-date hardware including watercooling computer setups. Also you are really going overkill on the price they charge? CompUSA (courtesy compusa.com) charges $9.99 for a 25 foot cat 5e cable; Bestbuy charges $22.99 for the same cable.

If you want convenience and you need something right then, you go to retail shops. If you want the best bang for your buck, you e-shop. CompUSA has always been one of the better shopping experiences for me though one time I bought a cordless phone from there and look inside the thing to discover that it didn?t have a battery (someone had returned it to the store w/o the battery and they just stuck it back on the shelves). I asked them couldn?t they just get another battery for it and much to my dismay? they didn?t carry batteries for the phones!

please dont compare your store with all compusa stores.. you don't have the slightest clue about retail, and I spent 5 years in that organization, believe me it's run by complete morons

sickkittens 08-09-2006 05:36 AM

I haven't shopped in one is a long time...it's mostly BestBuy and Circuit City for me.

No, it's not. I've been to CompUSA stores in most of the Southern USA, all of which competence levels are far beyond those of surrounding stores, especially the likes of BestBuy and Circuit City. Their prices are usually far better as well. The only retail shop that I trust more is Fry's but then again I don't have a Fry's where I live so CompUSA will have to do. Again, considering that CompUSA is the ONLY retail store here (and surrounding US states evidently) to carry up-to-date technology such as water-cooling setups for computers, I fail to see how they are ran by "complete morons". I guess the places you worked at must have really sucked ass lmao.

I've always found CompUSA to run the best sales.
