This little chap was pretty smart. He knew that to get traffic to his page, he'd have to make it newsworthy, remarkable, worth telling your friends about and writing an article about in your magazine, blog, whatever.

That was his asset. He was news. His claim was so outrageous that everyone was talking about him and everyone was visiting his site. It became a giant self-fulfilling prophecy. This your man is a marketing genius. Of course those who followed with copies didn't make it, because they lacked the magical ingredient of news-coverage.

I've heard that for those who bought their spots early, this was a very good investment. Shit! Everyone knows about this site and almost everyone who is online has visited it by now. Who can say that about his site?

Brilliant guy. Deserves his money just like the copycats don't deserve the million.

I'm really curious what he'll do next. I wonder how far he has truly understood what he has done with the million dollar homepage. And this general curiosity about his next project will give this guy tons of free traffic to start with.
