John Mark Karr: Media Having a Field Day

One day after his arrest and the newspeople are working overtime to dig up every little detail of this guy's life.

CNN even stated his brother lives "closeby" in Georgia, naming the town.

Whatever happens in this case, guilty or innocent, thanks to the media this guy will never, ever escape this ... and sadly, everyone related, worked with or knew him will get sucked in.

Here's an example of the media vultures at work:

If he is guilty, fair enough - he's scum and deserves everything he gets, but effectively, he's guilty already.

Sad.

While I agree with your tone about the media, the guy is getting exactly what he wants, guilty or not. He's the one on TV confessing to the crime. If he's guilty, I hope he goes to jail for the rest of his life. If he's innocent, I hope he gets a lengthy prison term for obstruction of justice. :2 cents:

Lots of people confess to crimes they didn't do, just ask any police detective. But I'm not in any way suggesting his guilt or innocence, that's for the courts, just pointing out that a confession does not necessarily equal guilt.

But the predators of the media are clearly determined to expose every tiny detail of his life. So, like I said, not only he suffers but everyone around him.

Let the circus begin.

I'm on record in another thread saying I doubt he's done anything. One of the reasons I'm leaning that way is BECAUSE of the people around him. If the people around him have nothing to hide, what have they to fear? If anything they'll write a book and make bank. Cynical perhaps, but in this day and age, it's the sad truth. (If he has kids, I'll make a notable exception here and say yes I'd feel bad for them).

I'm also on record in MANY threads on this board as saying that the media are brutally irresponsible today.

So, in essence, I agree with everything you say...except blaming the media for what happens to HIM in particular. He asked for it, he's getting it. He's either guilty of brutally murdering a child, OR he's guilty of exploiting that child's horrible death. Either way, he gets zero sympathy from me.

It's the media engaging in "good"/culturally acceptable CP. Everyone loves hearing about it, as long as they can say that they're mortified by it and not actually wanking to it. Then they smear a thick layer of vigilante-violence fantasies on it to make the whole experience extra-sexy and emotionally satisfying for them. Like, "ogh wut a sicko give him the cherr and tell me more about how his cum was in her panties? Werr can I find more pics of Jon Benet in formalwear and bethingsuit preferably 2-peece? Enquirer? ok thanks". I think that's the mentality that drives society's craving for the whole thing, whether they'll admit it or not. Morbid and sick, but true.

I think the Ramseys let him into the house and were part of it. Perhaps he paid them a fee.
