Have hosted galleries made banners obsolete?
We just launched a new solo girl website with 44 free hosted galleries
http://www.cashlikewhoa.com/promotio...lashaytgp.html and a shitload of banners in all sizes: http://www.cashlikewhoa.com/giabanners.html The site is doing very strong numbers, but I'm wondering if it is even necessary to design so many banners in all sizes these days? When it comes to pushing paysites, are affiliates still using banners as strong marketing tools or have hosted photo and video galleries made widespread banner use obsolete? I'm interested in hearing people's views on this. thanks |
all I use is banners so yes they're still important.

I will also say for the record we have been in this business since 2001 and never had a problem with our credibility or never knowingly been involved in any shady dealings. Our sites are among the most popular in their respective niches and have made affiliates loads of money over the years. We do good business, period. Hundreds of people who have done business with us over the years can back that up. If there are any redirects or email problems we were unaware of them until reading this post and they will be fixed immediately. Thanks again for bringing that post my attention. i will post any changes as soon as these issues -- if found to be true -- are corrected. |
Yes, banners are important... When I'm integrating a new set of galleries or a new sponsor, I'll use banners first so that I can quickly start marketing them...
What's also important are FPAs. I use a lot of them for my own 404 traffic, entry passages, "review" type things, center of a spoked advertising hub, SEO, etc. etc. etc.. If all you do is chase the high traffic low conversion TGP/MGP sites, you're leaving money on the table. |
I get better ratios with banners. Not better numbers, because the galleries can bring in more money, but better conversion ratios with the banners
