What's the best video editing/authoring program?
 

I want to be able to mix and match video clips and images so that I can play a song/audio in the background as it plays...

I'm still an Adobe Premiere guy...

also i'm looking for one that lets you add text over the vid and other options like that...

This is the final answer, bro...trust me.

If you want the BEST, I recommend Final Cut Studio. If you're making a video/slideshow with music in the background - use iMovie or Windows Movie Maker. You don't need an editing suite to make home movies.

final cut if you're a mac guy but if you really want to play with the best and your a windows person i suggest Ulead VideoStudio 10 Plus
