if you have kids EDUCATE them in LIFE SKILLS!!!

I never talk much about my daughter on message boards..
that's because in general i don't believe kids n biz well

but today I'm gonan break my own rule and tell you just how PROUD I am of my daughter and why YOU , if you have kids should EDUCATE your kids in LIFE SKILLS

Last night we had an accident at our place and my BF severed his left wrist..
blood was goign EVERYWHERE.. and seeing it was in that DEADLY area .. we had to move fucking fast!!!

Now my daughter is ONLY 3 (almost 4) and as soon as she saw the blood (and there was a tonne of it) pumping up into the air she yelled "CALL 911!!!"

While I was running to the house for the phone .. without anyone telling her what to do - she went to a cupboard and pulled out a first aid kit and started to grab bandages and gauzes.

Now THAT is the kind of shit your kid needs to know.

i never trained her to get a first aid kit but we HAVE practiced many times what to do if someone is "on the ground and not moving" (ie: unconcious) which is how she knew about 911 (i have a minor heart problem so this is important for us especially)

911 is really for kids 3 and up but there are OTHER things you SHOULD teach your kids as soon as they can walk and talk:

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU SEE A NEEDLE/GUN/SOMEONE WITH KNIFE/FIRE/OR ACCIDENT Or IF SOMEONE TRIES TO DO PEDO SHIT:

teach them:
A)DONT TOUCH
B) TELL OTHER KIDS TO GET AWAY AND GET A GROWN UP
C)RUN FOR YOU LIFE AND SHOUT AS YOU ARE RUNNING "HELP ! HELP!"
D)FIND A GROWN UP AND TELL THEM WHAT HAPPEND. (and call 911 idf needed)

The above HAS been used by may daughter:

Story:
One time I asked an old friend who had FOUR kids (6,3,1,& 3 months) to look after my girl at her placefor just 10 minutes while i went to the store...
My girl was not quite 2 ...
when i came back she told me "needles mommy!"
sure enough, my old friend's new BF was a user (unbeknownst to me) and she had seen needles while in the house

you can bet your ass neither of us never went back there again.

the moral of my longwinded post is:
its NEVER too early to train your kids
keeping them wrapped in cotton wool COULD endanger them
teach them what they need to survive
one day it might save your life/ theirs or someone elses :thumbsup

I'm off to sleep.. been at emergency all night and just got home
Ciao

And teach them to stay away from people like Kman.....

DWB 08-21-2006 06:17 AM

Kitty, firstly healing energy and best wishes for your man. :thumbsup

I can totally agree that the little girl I helped prepare for entry into this world and spent 2 1/2 years with is amazing and has done things in the extraordinary range compared too many adults. You will remembber many things that your daughter has done that we have both marvelled at and then gained a perspective on.

I am relieved and proud that her calm mind and quick and decisive action saved time and potentially avoided a fatality and further damage. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Thanks 4 your message.

I was a little worried when I had not heard from you.
