Can a torn check be deposited?

I was ripping up envelopes, and I forgot to take a check out. :1orglaugh

Anybody know if a check can be deposited if taped together, or should I get a check reissued?

Yep, it can still be deposited. You'll just need to tape it back together.

Yes, will look weird, but unless the check is cancelled or stop payment'd then you have rights to cash it lol. I ripped a winning lottery ticked up into about 100 pieces before I realized I won $1000.00. Imagine taping that up to see the barcode :S

Tape it up. The worst that can happen is that the bank can refuse to deposit. But unless it is seriously mangled, that is unlikely.

Yes..I have done it before

Awesome. So fra, everybody says tape. I'll give it a shot. If they don't accept it, they'll get a cobra punch to the spleen!

As long as they can get the numbers off the bottom and read the rest of it, i dont see why not.
