Online Accountants?

Is there a such thing? I need an accountant, and everybody I call doesn't like how I make my money... which I think is absolutely retarted.

But on the flip side I would like to find someone familiar with online businesses.

Or if anyone knows anyone good in or around Houston, TX .. Thanks :)

Is it necessary to really tell a cpa what you do? I just say "internet advertising", they don't need to know what I advertise.

If they ask I'd rather be open and tell them then for them to find out and be like uhhh wtf?

bausch is correct in a way Alky. Accountants are only their to prepare their stuff and audit - does not matter if it's butter or soup - they either do the job or get dumped.

Every accountant I've ever dealt with did know the business and it was never a problem - so they do exist :) If anything, it was a novelty having a "pornographer" as a client - with the usual requests for free samples :winkwink:

I didn't volunteer the specifics of my sources of income when I hired my accountant.

Quick answer, no. Any accountant wants to know his clients financial biz for best advice, audit paperwork etc. - impractical to do online.

You may be able to get some quick advice online, but don't expect to get someone to prepare your taxes online...
