OS for Mac?

So...i've been using Mozilla Firefox on my new Mac...and it's been slagging a lot more than it should. I have the newest version, but it's still causing me more hassle than benefit. Does anyone use another OS on their Mac they would recommend? I like tabbed browsing and hotkeys.

firefox is a browser not a operating system, I heard safari is pretty cool

Zoe_Zoebaboe 08-22-2006 05:43 PM

Erm. Yeah.

That's what I meant. Browser.

No more happy hour on the job. *shakes fist*

Safari is good, although I still use IE a lot out of habit. If you have trouble with secure sites using IE, then try using Safari (it seems to have less security and compatibility problems).

My buddy who uses a mac swears by Safari...

You don't need Firefox on the mac.

I use Safari and Opera mostly. Camino is great too.

i use firefox since most user does.... try camino..

Camino is THE way to go IMO...

Firefox was never really "happy" on my G5 and even less so on the G4 17" laptop, Camino is a VERY nice substitute, plus the way it integrates with the keychain is superb

Get rid of Firefox as soon as possible.

Use Safari.

Zoe_Zoebaboe 08-22-2006 08:04 PM

ok, going back to Safari. heh. Thanks for the help :P

I agree Safari Rocks, I have firefox also, but uninstalling it as I have no need for it on the mac.

Safari sucks on most things. Rendering times, CSS, all sorts.

Camino is firefox but built totally in cocoa. That's what I use.

Opera is pretty speedy too.

If you have an Intel Mac, make sure you have the Universal version of FireFox. If it has to emulate through Rosetta, it's frickin slow.

Camino is much better...Firefox and Safari are dogs compared to it.
