I just saved $600
by calling GEICO. Seriously.
I have the worst luck when it comes to homeowners insurance. The company I had when I first purchased my home decided about 10 years ago to stop offering coverage in CA. Gtreat. I get another carrier, that costs more, but at least I am covered. I come home from Sturgis and find a letter saying that my current company had gone into receivership, and that I needed to find new insurance NOW!! Spent the day calling around yesterday, mostly hearing that they don't want to insure my home unless I want to make some changes to it, or offering me rates 50% higher than what I had been paying. Today I called GEICO, and not only got coverage, but about $300 cheaper than what I was paying. One less thing to worry about. |

Maybe I was typing too fast. The amount I paid for GEICO was $600 cheaper than the closest offer I had while seeking a new insurance company. As icing on the cake, it was $300 less than I was paying to the company that went out of business. |
