Do you guys know what I should do to disable the automatic download of Windows updates?

It's annoying as hell!

start
control panel
security center

My Computer --> Properties -->Automatic Updates

format c:

contol panel then security center, turn off

control panel
security center
automatic updates

since you brought up microsoft updates read this

seems you update and it makes things worse!

Give a good kick to the side of the box

press windows key + pause break at the same time, it will open the system properties go to the auto update and disable this.
