Auto Gallery SQL or TGP Rotator?
I'm finally getting around to putting a text MGP on a domain I've been sittng on for awhile. For my thumb TGPs I've used Comus, but that seems like overkill for this.
So, it comes down to Auto Gallery SQL or TGP Rotator. The question I have is which one should I use? It appears to me that Auto Gallery SQL is TGP Rotator on steroids. Is there some functionality that TGP Rotator has that Auto Gallery SQL doesn't? This will be a "fake MGP", and the functionality that I really need includes: 1) Bulk gallery imports (pretty basic, I know) 2) Categories 3) Scheduling (by date, random, category, whatever). I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two. Any opinions? Thanks much. |
I have Rotator, and it works fine for my purposes. From what you say your needs are, it would work fine for yours as well.
A feature of it that I really like is that you can run multiple sites off one db. You have to buy the license for each domain, but if you watch, they run specials. |
Selena,
Thanks much for the input. :thumbsup I like the multiple sites off one db scenario. I tend to get carried away and churn out several sites at a time of one particular type (not saying this is a good thing). |
comus can do text, then later if you want to inject some thumbs, your set

If you don't plan on taking submits get TGP Rotator instead of AGP sql.. With Rotator you can run several sites from one install and one gallery database.
I'm in the process of setting some sites up with Rotator now and if you set up your categories right and make good use of the keyword options and so on, you can easily set up niche sites in a matter of minutes once you have a good pool of galleries. |
If you plan on taking submissions, AG SQL. If you are just using hosted and / or your own galleries TGP Rotator.

Neither, use Comus.
