What do you guys recommend as some very good/easy to set up....

Double Opt-in Mailing list software/scripts..?

I am running Apache on Linux and would like something easy, powerful and affordable. (I know :) that's a huge request.)

.yup, it's that simple...

However, I'd hit Smokey up, he's probably got some very nice gear...esp if you need something tweakable & customized a bit.

there's http://www.mailworkspro.com and http://www.interspire.com
Both are decent but won't handle a list of 500k + all that well.
