Do you honestly believe that people care about the personality of the program owner? I care more about the sites, the program, and whether I believe the person is trustworthy enough to do business with...the personality of the owner plays a very minor role in my decision of whether or not I'll promote a program.

I seriously doubt 12clicks will have much trouble getting affiliates for his program regardless of his board personality. Also, his current malady of sweetness does have a certain acerbic sarcasm that's somewhat more amusing than his normal posting.

Will I sign up for his program, yep...will I actively push it? Depends on what sites he comes up with and if it works for my traffic.

I happen to know at least 2 very large programs who won't do buisness with certain other programs because of comments made by their owners.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who have enough money where they can pick and choose whom they want to do business with :) As an example: Curves. Very good exercise program for fatties like me. I won't join it because the founder puts a lot of $$$ into anti-abortion programs and I don't want MY money going there.

Honestly, people put way too much importance on board persona / personality. What gets posted on the forums is usually a magnified version of the persons actual personality. Hence why so many people that hate each other on a forum, meet in the "real" world and they end up becoming friends.

So, I put board posting in it's proper perspective. Also, I don't mind people with varying opinions on different topics. It'd be pretty damn boring if everyone agreed on every topic.

As for having enough money to pick and choose...heck, I have enough money from my non-adult businesses to drop being a webmaster altogether. What is important to me is whether or not I can trust the person I'm doing business with...now I've asked a few people about 12clicks and all the reports came back good. So that's all I need to know in that area.

Now, whether his program will interest me or not depends on the sites he has, etc...but I'm not about to let his board personality, his political beliefs, effect my business decisions.

I'd have to agree. I don't know anyone of any significance who won't do business with me.

Got little clue as to whether people care about "personalities" of program owners Mr B - tho marketing in a conventional manner usually seems to work best and it is not helpful to have baggage.

Only my :2 cents: - first criteria is: Who is the sponsor? How long have they been trading? Who controls/pays the cash? Is the operation stable? The niceties of sites and conversions come later.

Sponsor programs are ten a penny - among them are excellent sponsors with good track records on conversions, payments and customer support blah. It's a no-brainer in comparison to new programs.

12Clicks? Well... his personality mode obviously needed changing and he's on insincerity mode two now. Remains to be seen if mode three kicks in - there are plenty sponsors to chose from without the multiple personality problems. It's up to him what he wants to do and certainly wish that dear boy luck on this.
