Domain/Website Appraisal for Porn DVDs Reviews Website?and Hi!
 

We're new here so the first thing is hi from Colorado!

We searched a while for general information on this topic and nothing exactly applied to our site so we decided to pop our posting cherry. No matter what happens from here, we'll always have this day!!!

We've been trying to appraise one of our sites, but it doesn't seem to fit into any existing valuation model. Not one that we could find anyway. Any thoughts on this would be welcomed!

* 4,000 original reviews of adult DVDs - no images, just text reviews, comments, etc.
* 70,000 monthly unique visitors
* 850,000 monthly page views

Current Google Rankings:

* adult dvd reviews #3

The focus has always been on building a fun site that did well with the search engines. Aside from a couple links on the top of the page that earn $700-$1,000 per month, no real attempt has been made to generate income from it.

The only valuation method that makes sense to us is to take our free search traffic and determine what other sites are willing to pay for those same visitors through Google's pay per click system. Initially we thought pricing the site similar to what 6-9 months of this specific traffic would cost. The problem is that this total seems too high for a site that doesn't currently make hardly any money.

Any thoughts on the value of our site would be neat, but even better would be ideas on how to valuate content driven websites in general. Like, are we close? Or are we missing something?
