what is the best way to setup a blog : your own hosting + wordpress installed ? a custom made script ?

wordpress is fine for most peoples needs

I do my own hosting and then I install wordpress.

You own hosting with wordpress is indeed a good idea.

One can also use http://www.thumblogger.com/ , which is a free adult blog hosting service made for and by adult blog webmasters. It is in business for almost 2 years now and includes all the features you could even wish for.

A support forum is also available for the needed questions.

I published a tutorial last night on how to get setup with wordpress, feedwordpress - all the tools you need to subscribe to RSS - to go with the release of RSS for both our tours RavenRiley and LizVicious.

I go for wordpress + own hosting too!

Own hosting but WORDPRESS no.I personaly use serendpity.Belive me i am php proffesional.

whats the advantage of serendpity with wordpress?

WP definitely. Why would you want to spend money on a custom script if there is a free one out there that works just fine?

wordpress is easiest.
Some hosts now offer it as part of the hosting plan - one click setup.
