I thought this thread was perhaps about business - and the question relates to how much bandwidth does visitors/members on your website(s) use on a monthly basis.

Kick Ass Chat 08-28-2006 08:01 AM

Approx 300Mbps and growing :winkwink:

darkwood 08-28-2006 08:23 AM

stonegatherer 08-28-2006 10:49 AM

Is there any direct correlation between gigs transferred and sales?

Not direct, at all! There's a direct correlation between gigs transferred and noobs that are not able to optimize their stuff (code/images/movies) :321GFY

mhende6600 08-28-2006 10:53 AM

And here I always thought noobs were those who didn't know enough to go with an unlimited bandwidth webhost. :1orglaugh

spasmo 08-28-2006 11:12 PM

We burn a good 100kpbs or so a day on a good month.

9 servers - all 100 mbs , pushing 50% of their bw capacity , do the math :)

WiredGuy 08-29-2006 01:31 AM

About 400 for my SEO stuff, about 8,000 for misc scripts I have running.

Wow... You guys are a bit clueless.... Vasago... Do you think a host would really offer "unlimited" to a program doing 15,000 joins a month with 200k existing members? Not every webmaster here has free sites pushing 100k uniques a day. :1orglaugh

A full length members area video may be 500MB at 620x480. Multiply that by 200k and 3 videos each... Good luck using an "Unlimited Plan" at server matrix. :1orglaugh

baddog 08-29-2006 01:47 AM

I have never paid attention to that in the 10 years I have been doing this. Doubt I will start anytime soon.

Mr. Soul 08-29-2006 02:12 AM

50 gigs?

Mr. Soul 08-29-2006 02:12 AM

50 Gb?
