it's because alot of elders have problems with mobility, so instread of having to get up and walk over to the ligh switch or roll over the run off a light you just clap.

i do not see who else they would market this to? i know probly alot of lazy people got this but i can see why elders are the target audience.

one of my newest favorite commercials is that Andy Roddick commercial with pong, that is a freagin amazing idea for a commercial.

DutchTeenCash 08-28-2006 09:20 AM

uhuh we had those too

so how old is that commercial? at least 15 yrs or so?

1) they reduce the chance of breaking a hip by getting up to turn off a light.
2) old people make less noise which reduces the chance of accidentally turning shit on and off all day and night
3) old people enjoy any chance to clap
4) clapping is good exercise for old people
5) making old people clap day and night is a nice way to induce a false sense of happiness and help them forget they are about to die.

I still like the FA showergel commercials :)

IMHO, this is the greatest TV commercial ever -- https://youtube.com/watch?v=-5C5c8uLWeo -- it aired just once.

Klen 08-28-2006 03:34 PM

It's funny watching what she does before she claps. Why does she keep looking back and forth? :error :upsidedow

anyone remember that medic alert bracelet commercial (or whatever it was) with the old woman on the bathroom floor against the toilet, crying out with a funnny lisp "i've fallen... and i can't get up"?

that one used to crack me up.

but then again... so did the scene in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas cartoon where he is making the little dog pull the massive sled up the mountain.
