Looking to learn .php.....

What would you reccomend doing for the best way to learn .php
(books?, go to class?, online?,)

and how long did it take you to learn and on average is it a hard language or not ?

CaptainWolfy 08-28-2006 12:27 PM

Pick up a basic book and then as suggested surf the net for resource sites and examples of code.

I would recommend long hours with the source itself..

php.net the manual.

it's hard to understand at first but when you get it you learned it the right way.

http://mysql.com/

Download script and install and then examine how is functioning

Nookster 08-28-2006 03:32 PM

Books that I've bought have helped me way beyond any tutorial or manual that I've found online has. I recommend buying a few good books, but also go through the tutorials and manuals online for backup. And like others have said here, www.php.net is now your new bible. Learn to love it. :2 cents:

Get Visual PHP ISBN: 0764583328

It covers the basics and has lots of examples. Then get yourself a php widget or something and you're all set.
