Why do Republicans like Bush?

I just can't figure this out. I have no party affiliation but consider myself fiscally conservative and socially liberal. My views border on libertarian beliefs.

But what do conservatives see in Bush? He spends like a Democrat and runs his government like one as well. His views on upholding the constitution and civil rights are so far from conservative that it's laughable.

The guy acts like a Democrat with retarded, outdated social views on religion, science, and society. Why are so many Republicans supporting him? Don't you want someone who is a Republican?

Many Republicans, particularly those of the traditional and Reganite persuasion, do not like Bush. There are quite a few books on the market right now that echo that sentiment.

dang terists. blow 'em all up, that's what i say. Bush is a pussy, he couldn't stand up to a girl. Bring in a "war president" thats what i say.

When Bush called himself a war president, he was actually reading the teleprinter wrong. It actually said "I am a raw president".

Meaning I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.

But why does the base like him? That's what I'm trying to find out. He isn't much of a Republican.

Because agree or disagree he's a man of conviction and clear objective.

By the same token, "The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. " - George Bernard Shaw

SirMoby 08-28-2006 05:32 PM

Because he took a religious stance on the issues of science, abortion and gay marriage. I know it seems silly but people are happy to live in poverty as long as those damn gays living 1,000s of miles a way don't marry.

Of course most of policies ensure that his base continues to get fucked but that's OK.

So what is the point of being a Republican then if you only care about conviction and clear objective. Hitler had those same qualifications.
