Can a rep accept money like that without being in breach of contract (not that all reps have contracts but you know what I mean)? Or are you offering the company a sweet deal and not the rep personally?

I understand what you are trying to accomplish here, but it could possibly create a conflict of interest for an employee. I expect our employees to seek out the best deals possible for our traffic. If that is you, and they want to start sending you traffic, then put the $500 in MY pocket and let me worry about appropriate compensation for that employee.

the problem with that is most reps always work with the same people. friends etc.
If I dont convert pull the traffic. I already pay the program owners well and we convert so its a win win.

I do understand your point but I have started threads if anyone wants to trade or do biz. and got no responses from reps. wouldnt you be pissed they arnt doing there job? I know I would be pissed.

If the Rep has to ask there boss go for it. but this has been going on since the begining of time. I'm all about greasing the right people

If you've worked (unsucessfully) to do a deal with a rep in the past, but got it now because of the $500 bribe --- won't that make the rep look unethical to his employer? Whether the deal makes sense or not, it casts doubt on the rep's motivation for the deal. It would also make me suspicious of what other deals are in place because of private bribes.

Why not just say "Let's start a new traffic deal and I'll wire you $500 right now." A good rep would bring that to the owner and say "Look at me, I'm a good rep, I'm making the company more money." That is what they are paid to do, right?

Is it OK for Reps to go to all the shows and drink or eat on a sponsors tab and never do biz with them? whats the difference?

Ok, I'm bored, I'll bump this again for ya.

My answer is this: If my rep brings me a deal structured like yours, and said "I don't feel right about taking the money directly without you knowing about it" --- I'd review the deal, and if it makes sense to do it, I'd bonus the $500 back to him for handling it in an ethical way.

If a sponsor throws a party with free booze or food for ALL, he should only do it for promotion and branding. It is unreasonable to expect every person to "repay" for attending. If you throw a party only for people who agree to do biz with you, it isn't right for them to not honor their commitment.

I think people should show some CLASS, and keep their promises. If they don't, then you have a good reason not to welcome them at your next sponsored event.

Roger we have finally worked out a deal but I don't need $500 bucks to make it happen. I have been looking for a reason to do business with you and I'm glad that it's working out.

If you feel the need to give anyone $500 because of it, donate it to charity :)

I would see it as unethical and I dont think you really are going to do it. If you really wanted to do this you would talk to the reps privately, not on a public forum.

Well To be honest I have never dont it. but I have given up in trying to get peoples attention to do biz..

I would rather just cut the fat out and pay the rep to try us out then. Sponsor shit all the time for branding. I could care less about branding I want to do Biz with you..:)

Is it wrong for a waitress to seat me faster if I grease her or door guy let me in a night club etc... it doesnt take any buisness away from the establishment.

Of course it is wrong. Does it happen? Of course. Should said waitress and or doorman be canned for taking "bribes", yes.

It is a reps job to make traffic deals, if they only make them when bribed they ought not to have the job.

Do that, send your most hard working reps presents (naturally you have to give the company a cool gift basket as well) at Christams, for their birthday, whatever then they have some personal incentive and you get to show some appreciation to the reps that work so hard on the traffic deals you have going on.......
