Most useful addons aren't compatible, I'd stick with the old one for now.

I'll stick with Firefox 1.5.0.6 till a final version of 2 is released. As for the big amount of ram that FF uses I don't care.. I have 2gb of DDR2 ram so it does not affect me one bit.
