Dear Steve,

I know you are up there looking down on all of us now wondering what all this is crazy stuff is about, killed by a stingray hey, I bet it was a big one, by crikey.

Mate, you were the man every aussie asipred to be, a bit of a larikin, even contriversial at times, but we loved you as our mate, and that a mate of mine you shall always be.

A tough aussie bloke yes you were, that crys on television about some poor animal that is down on luck, its not the typical aussie way, or is it, maybe we just wish, that is the way, we all could be.

To see you tackle those big crocs on our screens has made you seem invincible in a way, which is why this is so hard to believe, everything will be ok, its your attitude that made it that way.

An aussie we are proud of is what you have become, so proud in fact that even little johnny howard the damn prime minister has publically praised your deeds.

With all the experiences in your life and so much fortune and fame it is amazing that your greatest moment was becomming a dad, it is that humble personallity that we will all remember.

We all know that you have left this earth with much to do, but it is what you have done for conservation, and the people you have touched that is important.

Finally as an aussie icon, your memory shall live on and immortial you will be.
