Another Canadian killed by US friendly fire.
When will the US learn the difference between friendly and foe :disgust
Maybe some day we should say "oops"? http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...hub=TopStories |
Gung Ho pilots ....
I watch yesterday a documentary about the beginning of the war in Iraq in 2003. BBC newsreporters in the Kurdish territory... Kurds troops backed by CIA and US " advisers " . Those advisers called in an air strike... The pilots saw the Kurds ( dots on the screen ) and vehicules and bombed the shit out of them ... Many Kurds dead ( Is that a war crime ? ) , camera man, reporter amputated of his foot, US adviser killed... Follow up a few months later by the reporters : no official answer to querys, no excuse, no compensation, nothing, nada .... |
The US military considers it collateral damage and part of doing "business". Way back in WWII they carpet-bombed villages in Italy whenever they heard German soldiers were there. Many times they were wrong ... didn't matter, excpet to the Italian villagers who were killed, maimed, lost their homes, etc.
Fast forward to Iraq and they've been doing the same thing: Get word a village has insurgents, bomb the shit out of it ... men, women, children killed, maimed .. who cares? Air strike and hopefully kill enough of the bad guys to justify it. |

Well you have to admit Canadians often look a lot like Islamic extremists under the right conditions. You know, those being when you're high, wearing a blindfold, drunk, and listening to the rap music which causes the brain damage.

You weren't there, you don't know any details, you don't know who called in and targeted the air support since this is a NATO operation, so it is unclear until there is an investigation WHO is to blame. Since it's a Canadian commander in that area, maybe we should just blame him?? Or perhaps we should wait for all facts to be revealed before taking the cheap shots and assigning blame. |
yea this is a BIG problem...

It sucks ass. But this was actual combat and probably a genuine mistake. And does happen. It's not cool but there is no way to avoid it 100% of the time.
Unlike the training exercise that was bombed by a coward gung ho pilot claiming "self defence" against small arms fire that couldn't even reach him.:disgust |
Monday's friendly fire incident was the second such incident since Canadians began operations in Afghanistan more than four years ago.
Four soldiers were killed and eight others wounded in April 2002 when an American F-16 fighter mistakenly bombed Canadians on pre-dawn training exercise. Twice you fack tards. |

Shit, you guys really are hated to be treated like that by your own allies ... For the " military " training, please inform me of the one that Rumsfeld received ... After all, he does give more than opinions... Guys like you are so filled with ignorance that you really can't think for one simple second. |

It funny how you post the headline which was created by leftist, anti-war, Globe&Mail, yet "forgot" to post the whole story in a readbale format. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servl.../International Here's what you left out.. The Department of National Defence refused to provide further details surrounding the death, saying this would be answered during an investigation of the incident. "It's really too early for those questions right now," said Captain Stephanie Godin, a DND spokeswoman. In Ottawa, U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins said he had learned of the "tragic" friendly-fire incident with "deep regret." "There will be a full and thorough investigation and we will share the results of that investigation." You don't think. You search the internet for stories that agree with your twisted, left-wing, anti-american, anti-military point view and post them. You have no idea how close air support works. You only know what google tells you. There are a thousand ways something could have gone wrong. You are a ignorant lard ass who hides behind his keyboard and takes cheap shots about things you know nothing about. Canadians and Americans are on the same team on the War on Terror. It's sad there are so many dumbasses in both countries like yourself cheering for the other team. Please STFU. |

http://www.defenselink.mil/bios/rumsfeld.html Mr. Rumsfeld attended Princeton University on academic and NROTC scholarships (A.B., 1954) and served in the U.S. Navy (1954-57) as an aviator and flight instructor. In 1957, he transferred to the Ready Reserve and continued his Naval service in flying and administrative assignments as a drilling reservist until 1975. He transferred to the Standby Reserve when he became Secretary of Defense in 1975 and to the Retired Reserve with the rank of Captain in 1989. You are such a dumbass... |
