Quitting Smoking the easy way!

Like so many of you, I've been on the roller coaster of quitting, slipping, and smoking again. This last relapse into smoking, I've actually gone up to two packs a day. :(

One of my friends started a new program and has been using this product called "Commit" Lozenges. I started up on it today, got the highest dose, and while I may have not quit totally, I have had 3 cigarettes and it's 5pm here on the east coast!

I can see tomorrow being a smokeless day, and these lozenges have made it completely pain free.

Anyone else on the road to recovery, try them out http://www.commitlozenge.com/

Best way to stop smoking is not start at all.

Fresh 09-05-2006 02:01 PM

madawgz 09-05-2006 02:03 PM

just go cold turkey....worked for me

Antonio 09-05-2006 02:36 PM

Nicorette (sp) did it for me, the chewing gums, not the patch

the problems is that most of my social life died after that too, it all started with sayng no just anybody that asked me to go out for a drink coz lets face it, if you have a drink or two you're going to light up

E$_manager 09-05-2006 02:40 PM

my husband is on the road of recovery now. Very hard. He keeps eating, eating....

selena 09-05-2006 02:54 PM

Hang in there, Anthony. You can do this. :)

Mr. Romance 09-05-2006 02:56 PM

Gary_TLX 09-05-2006 02:58 PM

Good luck Anthony, I hope you'll be successful. I should quit smoking too, but my problem is that I like it too much. If and when I will quit, I'll just do it cold turkey.

JayDeeZee 09-05-2006 03:06 PM

Hey anthony....Good Luck, It just so happens I tried the patch today....I've had 2 smokes and it's almost 6pm here

I don't think the sell those Lozenges here in canada yet.

I just decided to buy the strongest patch and cut it in half....In hopes that the pack lasts twice as long

E$_manager 09-05-2006 03:37 PM

Anthony, i wish you the best in your intentions. If you want you could post your diary so that people would wish you all the best every day and cheer you up :)

shake 09-05-2006 04:18 PM

Good luck to you in quitting, I know it is not easy.

I've watched several people die from tobbaco cancers and it ain't pretty. I hope you manage to quit before doing serious damange.

nba4life2k 09-05-2006 04:20 PM

Thats why I never started because of all the people who want to quit. Why would you even start in the first place?

and its wierd because after you quit smoking the actual smell of cig smoke makes you want 2 puke .

Methodcash Rick 09-05-2006 05:21 PM

Going on almost 2 years smoke free. Went cold turkey, started walking 3 - 5 miles a day, lost 30 pounds, and have never felt better..

It's not a matter of how you quit, just as long as you quit.

MaddCaz 09-05-2006 05:22 PM

fight the way

Worldnet 09-05-2006 05:26 PM

Cold turkey is the way to go. You have to REALLY WANT to quit, or it will not work.

Spunky 09-05-2006 05:28 PM

I gotta quit that disgusting habit also

free4porn 09-05-2006 06:03 PM

good luck, just think positive :)

TheJimmy 09-05-2006 06:15 PM

Homie, I told ya how to skin that habit.

2-3 days of the patch to get past the 'how do I take a break during the day without lighting up' phase.

Once your'e past that few days then it's just the physical stuff. Time that for about 2-3 days you can basically chill out, meditate, workout, and just be plain spacey and cloudy as hell.

That's week one...after that it's all down hill mano!

:thumbsup

"Keep hitting it until you hit it."

PS: Do those things taste nasty? If not that sounds like a great tool to get off the bad smoke.

reynold 09-05-2006 06:27 PM

Good thing it works good on you, I just hope there'll be no side effects at all.

wdforty 09-05-2006 06:43 PM

congrats and all, but you haven't even made it a full day yet and you are plugging the program?

TSGlider 09-05-2006 07:09 PM

I tried patches, gums, hypnosis, cinnamon sticks, a quit-smoking gadget from an 800 number, and a few organic compounds that I can't remember.

But the only thing that ever worked, and really well at that, was prescription Welbutrin (Zyban's the non-generic name). It essentially shuts down the pleasure receptors in your brain so when you inhale, you don't get that blessed, lovely nicotine kick. There's no kick at all. It simply feels like you're breathing in thicker, dirtier air. Smoke.

I've got a couple of friends who actually insisted that, after 20 years, a fuckin book did the trick for them: Quit Smoking the Easy Way...you're supposed to smoke while you read it (seriously) and it did wonders for them.

...and, of course, if you want to earn serious revenue on your facial or cumshot traffic the Easy Way, visit EuroRevenue.com!

Kinda like saying the best way to retract a statement is not say it at all.. :thumbsup

nAtuRaLbEautY 09-05-2006 07:42 PM

haven't tried smoking ever..
an uncle of mine is a chain smoker and he said that it's quite hard to quit smoking so i've decided not to try it at all...

sniperwolf 09-05-2006 08:25 PM

going in and out of the habit is quite dangerous .. that's how the lung cells got confused... usually they are long cells (called epithelial cells) then turns to a much stronger type of cells, the squamous cells (like the cells found in our skin)..
if you stop then goes back again with the habit, these cells are constantly changing from stronger to normal type then vice versa.. causing metaplasia --then cause cancer cells..:(

I'm happy you're doing great with the program!. More power and keep it up!

pr0 09-05-2006 08:44 PM

hooked on xanax worked for me!

Boobs 09-05-2006 08:48 PM

goodluck to you!

minusonebit 09-05-2006 08:48 PM

I never started because I didnt want the govt to get rich off me.

woj 09-05-2006 08:49 PM

good luck man, first few days are the toughest then it's downhill from there...

Lisa 09-06-2006 12:29 AM

Best of luck Ant! Just over 6 months since I quit, and it was my easiest quit ever also...never even wanted one since. I've proudly boasted to my doctor that I've been so drunk on several occasions that I could barely stand up...but still didn't have a smoke...he's not sure if he should be proud of me or not cos of the too pissed to walk thing but I think he was happy.

What did it for me?

Zyban...and a visit to a hypnotherapist. I had my last smoke at 10.55am Feb 22 on the footpath outside her office.

HomeFry 09-06-2006 01:12 AM

Try the patch.

GrouchyAdmin 09-06-2006 01:24 AM

Seconding cold turkey - I carried a pack with me for 4 months, unopened, just in case if I couldn't fight the urge.

Really sucked to be my mate who got that stale old pack. :thumbsup
