I think it won't really have much of an impact... oil usage is still rising and we're still running out. Might buy a little time, but we're going to need to discover new sources of generating and transporting energy.

Great here comes another WAR

A-Bomb 09-05-2006 09:01 PM

even if we get the additional oil, we are still short on refineries to produce the fuels we need. That's the bottleneck that can't meet the demand.

Awesome news we should drill in AK too. Although we should dwindle our use of oil (I believe we will) and fuck the middle east over by having more oil than them.

I?m looking to get a FlexFuel car, but there?s no dame ethanol in my area!

WTF?

Good news for the economy. Bad news for humanity. But then again when has humanity ever mattered? =)

UniversalPass Pete 09-05-2006 09:18 PM

From what I heard it's still very early and they don't really know just how much oil is down there!:pimp

godisdead 09-05-2006 09:20 PM

Maybe the damn oil price will finally go down a bit now.

Yep and maybe they will discover that blue cheese mine on the moon too....too much money involved in it for prices to go down, and tbh with the civilised world addicted to the stuff, would you drop the price?

I just bought a new hippie mobile that gets a nice average 30-33mpg...not a horrible ride either...but am keeping the tahoe for trips to the snow & crap...

This find in the gulf is kinda fucked as more and more violent hurricanes will keep tearing through that area as a result of global warming. Woops, that's right our administration doesn't like that science hokus pokus stuff. Nevermind, it's a great find...unless you live in that region and like your beaches.

in 30-40 years we'll have a stable fusion reactor to solve all our energy needs.. Once a stable fusion is reached there's more or less an endless supply of energy.

discovery and significant talk of tapping are two different things...

I may have discovered Carmen Electras ARSE but I have not seriously spoken about my plans to tap it yet...

:winkwink:
