I officially got myself a man-purse, does it make me gay?
Nothing fancy, but definitely a man-purse. I am sick of juggling my ipod, wallet, keys, ipaq, headphones, cellphone, money, checkbook, etc. the alternative is to have more shit strapped to your belt than batman.
So I Picked up a nice leather 9"X11" (approx) bag. has a zipper pouch in front and to close it, and handles on top. I can carry my stuff around and all is good... If that is Gay or Metro...I don't care, my comfort is more important. |

A purse is a purse, dude. Putting "man" in front of it doesn't make it less girly.
Doesn't it have a shoulder strap or something you can at least sling around your neck or something, like a mini-sized laptop case to make it not a purse? |
Do you think you will be seeing guys in the hood using them? if not, probably a little gay.
It is good that you are comfortable with it. |
You mean, a European carryall?

I'm interested to see if I can make the transition into carrying it, men are use to being hands free. Now If I lose the bag, my whole life is in there...Gotta remember i'm carrying it around with me. Women do it...why can't we? |
Nope... the fact that you take it in the ass makes you gay. The man-purse is just an extension of that.
;) |
no. But i personally don't like it on men :)
|
if it's got handles and you are carrying it with your hands then it's kind of leaning on the gay-ish side. if it's across the body or waist then it's not gay. just my 2 cents!

Unless your carrting make-up and lip gloss in that thing you should be all right

Carrying a man purse does not make you gay. It only makes you look gay.
If you are a man that sucks cock and likes it, then you are gay. |
yeah it's definitely gay, but hey post a pic of it so we can laugh more
|
I had one when I lived in NYC, no car made it easier to carry shit around. No one ever made a comment about it. Guess depends where you live and if you look like one of the queer eye guys or just a regular guy who needs to carry his stuff.

no that's not gay. getting fucked in the butt or sucking dick is gay. :winkwink: |
Hm. Depends upon what you call a man-purse. A pic of it would help. You can have some sort of a backpack. What made me wonder was something else you said: What is wrong with having more shit on your belt than Batman?
|
I also think that it is more important to feel comfortable, and do not care about the way people will think.

The purse looks masculine enough, but you're going to have to do something about that limp wrist the way you're holding it... hehe

You know what...i'm having a discussion about accessories...THIS IS GAY! |
Ain't a big deal. I have way too much shit to carry around and HAVE carried a canvas Puma man bag before. Actully, still looking for another one - would prefer a black leather Gucci bag but haven't found one the right size.
Anyway, here's a funny article for you, Ray - from a woman's perspective :winkwink: The Man Purse Revisited Honestly, I don't know what all the fuss is about. So your man carries a purse? What's a girl to do? It's not such a big deal, is it? Ever since the airing of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry starts carrying a "European Carry-all", the man bag has truly found its place in popular culture. That particular episode is, by far, my favorite. The man purse that Jerry was carrying was actually quite nice. I mean, if you are going to carry a purse it ought to be a nice one. While the episode elicited a lot of laughter, it brought up some interesting points. For instance, why do men feel so uncomfortable calling a purse a purse? Handbag designers take note! One day in the not-so-distant future, the market for man purses is going to explode. That's my prediction, for what it's worth. I think the biggest challenge for designers to overcome when approaching this untapped market, is the marketing angle. How do you sell a traditionally feminine handbag to a traditionally insecure male? If designers can manage to get the marketing mix just right, they could reap massive sales. man bag? Murse? European Carry-all? Whatever! At this point, a lot of progressive and adventurous men have started to test the waters. Although they are more common in Europe, many a man can be spotted in major American metropolitan areas carrying their Murses with pride. And no, not that kind of pride! And if I hear the name Metrosexual one more time, I am going to freak out! To be honest, I feel sorry for those brave men out there. In the world of women's fashion, we have countless designers to choose from. We also have dozens of shapes, sizes, colors, and materials to explore. Most of the Murses I have seen have all been very plain, simple leather. I think a company like Dolce & Gabbana could lead the way for other designers. Those lads are flamboyant and masculine at the same time. Would it be so difficult for them to incorporate those principles into a well crafted, handsome Murse? Wouldn't it be nice, ladies, if your man could carry your make-up or mobile phone? Do we dare to dream about a day when our significant other reaches into his Murse and passes us a tissue during one of those horribly depressing chick flicks we all know and love? Just imagine the possibilities. I recently convinced my boyfriend to try one out. I just have to spend a lot more time reassuring him of his manliness. No big deal? cathy Feld man is thinking of going into the man purse business. When she is not defending her boyfriend's sexuality to her friends and family, she writes for designerhandbags101.com ? a wonderful online guide to the finest handbags in the world, with information about Furla, Sydney Love, Kooba and more. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
It looks like a small, soft-sided briefcase. I wouldn't worry about it.
