Just picked up a PSP and WOW ... It's crazy .. I have ????
My son's B-day is coming up and he's wanted one for some time now ... so we picked one up today .. This thing is way cooler then i thought .. the graphics are sick and I didn't realize it has a web browser .. I think I may get one for myself or this kid is sharing ..:1orglaugh
I still have to pick up a Memory card .. I have 2 - 512's sitting around from my Camera .. is that enough or should i just go get a 2 or 4 gig? I want to put a good amount of Music and Movies on it but I'm not sure how big a DVD Converts to and the best software to use .. I know I saw a converter in Vegas 6 .. is it worth buying the gameshark software? any feedback is welcome ..:thumbsup |
PSP is great, glad you like it. You should try playing wireless poker with some buddies

Most 2 hour movies can be compressed down to about 300 MB. For me, a 1 gig card is enough to get me through long flight.
T.V. shows rock on the PSP. Here is the (free) software to convert video and copy it to your psp: http://www.pspvideo9.com/ Hope that helps out Mike! Rob |

So you opened it up and played it before giving it to him? haha
|
i'll wait for the new apple video device
|
You'll also want a stand, Mike.
It's nice to be able to flip down the tray table, stand the psp up, and kick back. Logitech makes a nice hard case that flips to hold the psp up. http://www.mydogandbone.co.uk/images...ear-Pocket.jpg |
Honestly, get yourself a 2gig card.
If you can get the chance, downgrade the PSP to the FW 1.50 - allows you to play homebrew games and software - and there is some really cool stuyff out there - IE programs to stream TV onto your PSP, stream radio onto the psp - use the psp as a remote control - GBA, SuperNES, N64, Sega and NeoGeo emulators.. the whole deal - and also the ability to play ISOs of games, if you stand on that side of the fence. |
THe graphics is great, but I hate the controls, so its pretty much useless for me. :(

i have had mine for abouta year.. i love it.. gets me through those long flights... my only issue is that they just dont have enough games yet..

PSP is pretty cool toy :)
Although I don't use it a lot...it's collecting dust somewhere in my room...:) |
I post to GFY from a PSP in bed sometimes. Hehe.
|
I get some hits to my sites from people using them and have been contemplating buying one so I can check it out and maybe customize some pages for it.
|
I'm thinking of picking one up, but the Nintendo DS lite looks pretty good too...

ive had a PSP for quite some time now, the best game is Wipeout by far
also, the browser really isnt that great and everything takes forever to load on the PSP :( |
I love my PSP. I hardly play games on it, though. The only games I've got are two compilations of arcade classics. So I've got old games like Mortal Kombat 1/2/3, the original Street Fighter, Final Fight, Paperboy, Gauntlet and a lot more. Those are the only games I really have the time to play, anyways.
I use it mostly for watching videos and surfing (checking email, stats, news, etc). I've got a one gig card, but that's more than sufficient. I've got a hard drive full of converted video, so I just load new videos when I'm done with the old. Like RobbieRye suggested, use PSP Video 9 to convert video. It's a great program and completely free. Depending on the bit rate you convert at, a 90 minute movie will take up about 300-400 MB. |
I did get one myself. Graphics are great but the games fucking suck.
The only one I enjoy is the GTA. Looking forward for Mortal Kombat. |
