Fuck you domain squatters & brokers!

You are a plague on the internet. Progress cannot happen if a good domain never gets developed, and you just hang onto them for dear life, hoping to flip them to turn a profit, to then sell to another butt fucking tool who turns around trying to squeeze more pennies out of the domain, before someone of actual value comes along to purchase it (usually at SUPER BLOATED prices, because you can't seem to do any actual WORK for a living, and would rather bleed the internet dry).

You are rediculous.

I seriously hope a law goes into place, that if a site is just parked somewhere without increasing traffic, it goes back into the pool, no questions asked, and you lose your entire savings.

Fucking assfucking scum of the earth you are.

Get a real job, and do some actual work.

HomeFry 09-12-2006 02:57 PM

I'm sick of seeing THIS DOMAIN IS PARKED! Fuck YOU! Do something with it! Why the FUCK did you spend money on a domain if you have no intention of using it ever. Watch the fuck out for someone with a bank roll to come along and start trademarking your shit, you lazy sacks of fuck cheese.

I didn't miss any trains, it seems that you did, by the looks of the sites in your siggy though. Carry on, this thread isn't for you.

One thing I find odd is that domain traders sell domains to each other for more money than any actual developer is willing to pay.

I just had a counter offer for $1,250,000.00 for a domain that has NEVER been developed, it gets minimal traffic at best, and it's a misspelling of a word. It has just been sold from one squatter to another, and now someone thinks it's worth an ungodly amount. I've bought better domains for $20k that were developed WITH traffic. You fucking tools need to get back down to earth with your pricing, because you are WAY off base these days.

DaddyHalbucks 09-12-2006 03:42 PM

Every industry needs startup investors who take big risks for the promise of great rewards and fund the early stages. That's why it's called speculation, and a high percentage of such investments fail.

The internet is no different.

Many generic domain investors/ buyers provided that important early cash to companies like Network Solutions and others who built the net.

God bless the investors.

So, when do they stop speculating and start working?

Not all work is physical.

The money they invested in the domains, do you think they all printed that money at home?

lucky1 09-12-2006 04:06 PM

I sick of real estate investors.
Stop buying homes unless you are going to live in them.

What a ridiculous argument.

Just because you buy a domain it does not mean that you have to use it right away.

Either buy a domain from someone and pay their price or register a name that will work and brand it yourself. You don't need a milion dollar domain name to have a million dolar site.

This is how it works. Get used to it.

word . . .

HomeFry 09-12-2006 05:12 PM

Yeah, you're right... A domain is worth more than the money you can sell it for.

Nobody in their right mind will ever buy an undeveloped domain, with ZERO traffic, ZERO SE listings, and ZERO history for $1,250,000.00, EXCEPT for speculators, who will further BLOAT the domain value.

It's like leasing a broken down shack in Hollywood, CA for $3000/yr, and living in it for 50 years, until the land it sits on is worth more than the actual structure that sits on it, then subletting it out to another shack dweller for $100k.

Cockroaches

MetaMan 09-12-2006 05:31 PM

ya and wtf is with all those car dealerships?

gideongallery 09-12-2006 05:46 PM

if a domain is parked covering it cost on the type in traffic it is being used
what i get sick of cry babies wanting to buy a domain that consistantly make money at a lowball rate of 3-10 months revenue.

Yeah no kidding - I get several emails like that a week, and I stopped responding. Traditional businesses are often sold for 10x anual revenue. Not saying they should go for that much but I would think 2-3x anual rev. would be a good starting point for an offer on a domain name :pimp

Personally, I think the internet would be a better place if domains still cost $50 - $100 instead of $8, as it would make it much easier to start real businesses/do real things instead of having to deal with people selling them second hand. But, since you can't beat them..., I've got an arsonal of a few thousand domains, and we add new ones every week.

Linkster 09-12-2006 05:56 PM

Id be happy to sell you squatterdomains.com so that you could develop it into a complaint site :)
BIN is only $150k

After Shock Media 09-12-2006 06:01 PM

I have at least a hundred domains just sitting, no adsense, no pages at all often. Some dating back to the mid nineties. I have plans for most of them, and may actually get around to some of them.

Now lets see, domain regs used to cost me 70.00 each per year. Now renewing them is only 8.00 or less. Assuming I have 100 (I know I have more) I am spending a whopping 800.00 a year on holding onto these. Which by the way is tax deductable for me. Now why in the fuck would I really sell any if I do not feel like it, or am not in a cash crunch?

Often when I get offers in, I will respond with a "My minimum price is" pull large number out of my ass. If they take it great, if not oh well I never asked them anyways.

I Totally agree with you. If a domain is parked and covering the cost, why not hang onto it. Nothing wrong with hanging onto them for later use or as an investment. There isnt alot of good domains left especially dot coms or decent nets etc. Country TLD's are doing well, so Its a sellers market.

Summary: You've been bidding on a crappy typos because you were too stupid/timid to buy good domains way back when. And now when someone else wants too much for a crappy typo you get all upset at those damn domain speculators. :1orglaugh

jeffrey 09-12-2006 06:31 PM

I hate this too... but I just go around them. I wanted a domain, a cash site domain, and they wanted 2800 bucks for it. so I bought the cash version of it instead of the coin they were selling, for 10 bucks.
Developed it, and sold it. and now that guys 2800 dollar domain is worth shit all.

But I have noticed that when I look up domains to see if they are available in about 2 weeks they will be registered, even the stupid ones, and the ones i didnt spell right, this has happened when searching from a few big domain sites.

Barefootsies 09-12-2006 07:42 PM

Yep. It sucks a major turd but what are you going to do.

There must be some purpose to buying up the good names, and hoping that someone will buy them for more then the $9.95 a year.

It's a waste of time and effort in my opinion. But for those looking to nickel and dime their way to an infomercial. Bravo.
