Model Flakes for the 2nd time...
 

We had a model scheduled to shoot for AllOver30.com who didn't bother showing up last week. She called yesterday and told me it was because she had some emergency family issues. So I told her "no problem" and scheduled her for today. She was due 35 minutes ago. No call. No show.

How shall I punish her if she decides to show or call with another excuse?

I make them do a POV facial.

Kick her to the curb I say :disgust

Oh, and my personal favorite 'stomach flu'. I love how some of the girls manage to get that 3 times a year. I remember back when I used to drink that was a personal favorite of mine back then after a night on the town.

If they do that kind of bullshit twice, I just drop them. Regardless of how hot they are. If they do that after they've done a few shoots, I will no longer proactively call them.

This is business. Not playtime. If they want to show up on their schedule fine. We'll shoot them, but not pay them. Otherwise they are on OUR DIME.

She's costing you money Donny. The time you've spent dicking around with her and waiting on her no shows is worth something. Next time she calls tell her that you still have work for her but at a reduced rate for the shoot. If you were going to pay her $200 per hour it's now down to $100 per hour for the next shoot, and the rate/offer will be reduced further if there are any more no-shows without at least a 24 hour notice.

And in the meantime, look for other models (goes without saying).

how much time and money have you spent on her? if you decide to shoot her and she shows up, take the money out of her pay.

good thing we do is we dont give the model instructions to the shoot until one hour before the shoot takes place.She has to call us. She doesnt call no waiting wondering is she going to show up.

Her punishment is to not have me as the stunt couch in the shoot. Her loss.

I've produced for years. Models always flake out of course, however if she is screwing around its always good to tell her you made special arrangements for her etc. Word of mouth is the best way to get/retain/reliable models so be professional.

may be that would be a good punishment if you tell us her name :)

I would still shoot her, it happens all the time, no point trying to punish her, i would just shoot her or tell her to get lost.
