I notice a lot of people asking for content..

..and not getting many responses. With the 2257 stuff, I took all the content off my sites (and doubled my income - text sells!), so I'm a little out of touch with the content biz, but are fewer people in it? Or are programs more selective with whom they'll deal with? Or both? Just doesn't seem like there's not much response from some BIG programs begging for content.

Well i guesss there are a lot of content and a lot of content providers here,2257 compliant, and i guess programs already have supliers they work for a long time and dont ask much more on forums:)

Well, it's a lot of the bigger programs asking here on the forums. I'm sure they have contacts already, but they're asking for more and don't seem to get the huge responses that used to appear within seconds as recently as a year ago. :Oh crap

big program owners don't pay what they use to, so now content providers are becoming program owners

Yeah, I'm shocked as well.

For some of our content needs, we have great contacts and they do very well, but don't always have the niche we're looking for. Lately, we've been looking for content that we can license and provide to affiliates but finding content that is the quality we're looking for AND have affiliate content licensing available (even if it's at an increased license fee) are really hard to find in some niches...

it's pretty simple to post a few amateur pics of a nude model, put up a cool web site and tell the buyers you can shoot content . . to actually shoot and deliver content is a very difficult job and most can not follow though . . I have 4-5 clients right now with content they have paid for from other shooters that has either been such poor quality the clients could not use it or was never delivered in the first place . . most of the 'so called' content shooters form a year ago have failed and ripped off everyone they dealt with . . some them are still trying to get clients too after having ripped off clients also . . noticed a few posting the other day -bmb

yup, the quality just isn't what it used to be and the ones who do have quality don't have the niches we're looking for...

a good example is fetish/bondage content...there's a lot of poorly shot content with grainy images and low resolutions.

AssPirate 09-15-2006 09:02 AM

bumpity bump for you...

Yeah, it does seem that most of the unanswered requests are niche content. It's been interesting, and despressing, to watch.

this is a real issue . . the buyers treat us shooters like we are disposable . . so yes we are looking to get programs going . . any loyalty from the buys would have made content shooting a profitable biz . . it no longer is in LA

I can safely say that it will indeed be great work for whomever takes you up on it.
