I found a killer spot by my house where the trout they released into this park have moved to a stream and are hanging out... I caught about 10 of them last weekend, I kept one of them to have my wife cook up for me...

Man, I'm jealous. I live in southern Arizona and trout season doesn't start till November (when they start stocking) so I've been fishing for bass and blue gill at the local lake, which is a disgusting mudpuddle compared to the lakes of the northwest. When I lived in Redmond, WA I'd go to Cottage Lake almost every morning before hitting the computer. It really made working from home easier, getting outside and all instead of just waking up and going to work.

Spunky 09-15-2006 06:33 PM

Every once in awhile I go Salmon fishing, when they're running

scotty2hotty1111 09-15-2006 06:35 PM

Northern Pike & Perch.

It's kind of all we have here in north Sweden.

I love fishing!

:thumbsup

notabook 09-15-2006 06:35 PM

White Perch and Catfish. I don't eat them, but a lot of my friends do. It's funny, I love fishing but hate eating most kinds of fish >_<

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 09-15-2006 06:38 PM

More thinking about it I live like 10 miles from the open sea. I just need to get a boat now so I can start catching some salmon/salmon trout!!

The only negative is that I have no sense of direction :1orglaugh

beckie 09-16-2006 08:02 AM

I love to fish - have been fishing my whole life. Walleye, Salmon, Pike, Trout. Salmon season is just around the corner for me.

http://www.sundesignsxxx.com/awh/beck4.jpg

I went to Hawaii last year and went on a private charter boat. I was expecting to reel in a BIG fish. All I got was a 15 pound snapper. :(

BV, I don't know you, but I'm going fishing with you next time I'm in FL. :)

15 lb snapper is a pretty good fight in deep water! We call them "Cadilacs" here cause that's what it feels like on the end of your line.

Over 20 lbs they aren't so good to eat anyways.

RogerV 09-16-2006 01:20 PM

I do but I never catch anyhting good. Just catfish

Ponce De Leon Inlet is where I fish at mostly. If the seas are 2-3 or less I'll head out about 60 miles to a nice rock formation I found in about 170' of water. It's a big spot, probably 1/4 sq. mile. Takes about 1.5 hours to get out there.

You loose sight of land at about 12 miles so you can imagine going for another 50 miles past that. It's very intimidating at first but definitely puts you in perspective with things.

You are nothing out there, just a spec in a huge body of water and usually you never see another boat, and when you do you are very leery.

Anyways the grouper & snapper must call that home. I pick up a few Dolphin there also off my chum slick while free lining a squid or chunk of cut bait.

It's great when you're hooked up. Nothing like it. That's why I love Snook. They are badd asses.

They even come with a racing stripe!

That would scare the shit out of me.. I have a glacier bay cat with all the bells and whistles but I still dont know how to use the nav system etc.

I'm turning around if I dont see land LOL:1orglaugh

maybe thats why i only catch catfish in the bay

Drake 09-16-2006 01:33 PM

Love it, haven't done it in years since I moved back into the city. I'd love to try saltwater fishing to catch the stuff BV does, but I need to live near an ocean for that :(

To be honest flounder are pretty hard to catch because they eat your bait and sit right there. No real fight. I didn't even know this guy was hooked up for a while. He took the bait and just layed under the boat.

When they get hooked they don't take off like most fish.

czarina 09-16-2006 01:39 PM

Media. check out my frinds fishing blog. Its catfhishing, but hey. what the heck.

I have a Garmin GPS with a bult in Color LCD PLotter & Bottom Sonar. They can be a PITA to run especially when you're driving the boat and bobbing up and down constantly.

People do it but I wouldn't go out 60 miles in a bay style boat. That's definately Deep V and high free board territory.

I've got a Sailfish 218 and it's pushing it sometimes if the seas get over 4'. It's a helluva deep v though so its a smooth fast ride when the seas are a nice 2' chop. I can cruise at 50 MPH and get almost 4 MPG with my 225 Yamaha 4stroke.

One day if I ever start making alot more money than I am now (alot more), I'd like a 50 - 60' Carolina Flair Hull Custom fishing boat. They are 2-3 million though fully rigged, but you have all the comforts of home and that Carolina Flair hull is Bad Ass. If you get too hot just go inside and take a breather and get a blowjob or something.

Seas are much rougher off the Carolinas so the best rough water boats naturally are built there. Most are all custom built to order.

Something like this would suit me: http://www.buddydavis.com/58sport_photos.php#

Buddy Davis boats are legendary.

Boobs 09-16-2006 02:06 PM

we do lots of crabbing here

squishypimp 09-16-2006 02:46 PM

when i buy my first boat, im going to pick up fishing again, its so relaxing!
