Popupopupopup?
Whatīs the deal with them...I keep hearing if people donīt buy
send them in popup hell....what do you care, etc, etc. Has anybody thought that while Mr. X doesnīt buy anything today he might decide to comeback tomorrow and buy then? If you send your "Shit" traffic into popup hell you can be sure that Mr. X will never comeback. Or am I missing something? DynaMite |
A million pop ups would really suck. And lock up all the poor 56k users. some pop ups work, I've seen many signups from exit and such.
|
We use what would be considered by most to be an aggressive exit strategy on our pay sites....and trust me.....they work! :)
|
popup traffic is like any other...it's all how you use it...
for the most part, if surfer x leaves, he's not coming back tomorrow...why would he? maybe on a site looking for bookmarkers, but if you aren't, why would you care? bookmarkers are fine if you're a tgp, linklist, etc. otherwise they are just freeloaders or you haven't advertised to them properly... effectvie consoles should grab the surfer's attention...too often, I see people popping consoles for the sake of popping consoles...they ahve no clue how to be effective with it....conversions from popup traffic is an artform, and if you do it well, you can increase your bottomline by a nice 20-25% |
DynaSpain, I use pop ups... behind ones... or what ever they are called... I never used them until I learned to pop them behind. I have all my pics on my free pages in htm's... but you can over do it.... I also have it so they can scroll and resize the pop ups...
And if they close a pop up....I don't pop another one... if you have 30 to 60 htm's I really don't see any thing worng with 3 or 4 behind pop ups. I think the people that are resizeing the surfers Browser window is really pissing people off myself...more than behind pop ups... just my :2 cents: |
"what would be considered by most to be an aggressive exit strategy on our pay sites"
... LOL, you havenīt seen what I am doing ... harhar ... |

Ok I can agree with some of the arguments on why you should
use them...also I agree it depends on what type of sites to use them...for instance on my paysites I could but on my link site with independent paysite reviews I shouldnīt....actually I donīt use any advertising at all since it will damage the credibility of having non biased independent reviews.... If you use popups would it be smarter to use sites in the same niche....or rather use different niches? DynaMite :thumbsup |
... 5 popupders on entry, 3 fullpage/noncloseables on exit ... way to go !

there's a new popup technology out that is pretty cool called a pop&shake. what happens is as soon as a surfer exits a site without a purchase, a team of large beefy men with thick gold chains are deployed to user's location where they smack the shit out of them, and then turn them upside down and shake all the change out of their pockets. average sales are anywhere from a couple dimes up to a dollar in change with each pop&shake.
this new program is converting 1:1 |

Same niche dude. If I have a site with cute girls gargling cum and then send them to a transvestite site, chances of selling them on chicks with dicks srewing males asses are very very very low.Not going to happen. They got to my site and are interested in girls eating cum. Therefore, I would send them to a site with more cute girls drinking more cum .Better chances I'll make the sale. |
I hate popups myself and normally have turned them off... Opera just does it very nicely!

they are so interested in the stuff you sell? Maybe chosing a related niche might work better? Obviously not opposite that wouldn't work but I can imagine going from a teens to young amateurs might work.... DynaMite |

Kat, you're using v 6.03? I got it since yesterday.... seems to freeze quite often...

I just got into the selling aspect of adult entertainment myself, and before that, I can tell you: I'm VERY pickey about the sites I actually pay money to look at. Right now it's only 2. Neither of those sites have pop ups. To the average surfer, if they visit a site, enjoy it mildly, they decide to see what else is out there. When they leave, they go to another site and may or may not ever return to yours. If your site is worth going back to, they probably will. If you give them pop-up death, they will just get pissed off, ALT-F4 their browser windows to death and never go back because they don't want the hassle of having to go through all those fucking pop-ups again. Think of it as web-browser spam. 1 person in a million will go to it and 999,999 people will just be pissed off at it. If they want to visit your sponsors, make a links page. The behind-popups or the minimized ones are ok if you use them in small doses. NEVER make closing one pop-up open another. Remember, the first impression is important but can easily be forgotten by a horrible last impression. It's ok to use them, but use them sparingly.

Popups sell. At least 30% of my sales come from popups.

1 st console same niche, second console different niches since they didn't click the first time, 3rd console advertise "Join 4 Free" shit like Freezinebucks, if you want a 4rth console I would send it Maxcash POTD or a toplist so that you can get another surfer back to send into your sufertrap/console/hub :Graucho |
