My cat snubbed his nose at it....(pic)

I got some Roast Beef yesterday and it was green, the cat wouldn't even eat it. I take it back today and was told that it's supposed to be green. WTF? I asked for my $$ back and told them my cat wouldn't eat it so I sure wasn't going to eat it.

Would you eat green meat?

Nice pic of your cat :) I was told by a student vet that if you ever want to see if meat has gone bad to put it in front of your cat and if they wont eat it then either should you. That being said this info did come from a student vet so I dont know how true it is but if the meat is green dont eat it :Oh crap

Gillespie 09-28-2006 12:08 PM

Anybody who has ever eaten a McDonalds sausage biscuit or other meal that had a sausage patty in it and wondered why it was so insanely spicy.
I was told by somebody who should know, its the spoiled meat (or borderline spoiled), they're able to use it by spicing the hell out of it, and we are non the wiser.

.

mirror to check how the cat looks compared to the babe on screen

lol, "It's supposed to be green"

Yeah sure, all roast beef is green. Didn't you know that? :) Grows on a roasty beefy tree down by the leprechaun highway.

TurboAngel 09-28-2006 12:56 PM

Right????

Heheheh

Michaelious 09-28-2006 01:25 PM

Yeah thats a really great pic

Libertine 09-28-2006 01:29 PM

Actually, it's not all that uncommon for roast beef to have a bright, greenish colour. The discolouring happens because uv light changes hemoglobin into some other stuff. Doesn't mean the meat has gone bad, though - it has nothing to do with bacteria.

Ivana Fukalot 09-28-2006 01:32 PM

green meat? noooo :)
How do you feel now?

Actually its from green cows. You've heard of them haven't you.
Goes right along with the old Wendys commercial about the square fish

Why is that weird? I had gotten it yesterday and I had my receipt. They gave me the $$ back and I went across the street to the other store and bought some that had no green what so ever on it.

:)

DutchTeenCash 09-28-2006 02:10 PM

uh no thanks lol

cats normally eat stuff thats not ok anymore - at least when its a few days over the normal throw away date

DateDoc 09-28-2006 02:20 PM

I'd avoid that store in the future. Green meat is indeed bad. Sometime when you age beef the outside will turn green and you cut that off but cooked beef being green is very bad and should have had an awful smell.

i've heard that too!... cats will eat any kind of meat - cooked or raw... EXCEPT if it's bad

Dragar 09-28-2006 02:34 PM

I can see your face reflecting in that moniter

CyberHustler 09-28-2006 02:39 PM
