Actually I've heard some program owners SAY that pps is based on the prediction that the surfer will FORGET TO CANCEL for at least 2 months and then if ya sneak in that xsell to them, that gives them 2 more right there.

I don't think cross-selling per se is any problem. Hell, try siging up for a Hotmail account and see how many upsell offers you get slapped with. Or buy a domain name with GoDaddy and see how many they've got. I've even seen PRE-CHECKED cross-sells on mainstream sites, which in many regards are actually way worse than paysites. If you think adult paysites "sneak in" the cross-sells, I've seen worse examples in mainstream. Fucking over the surfer is bad, no matter what, the difference is that there's a lot less tolerence towards this industry from political and financial bodies.
To get back to the issue at hand, while I'm principially against fucking the surfer, if I am to choose between that and giving up 35-65% of my income in order to not fuck the surfer, you're damn right I'll fuck'im sore! The debate should not even be about fucking the surfer or not, but about morons opening revshare sponsor programs who couldn't make a surfer rebill if he was the last virgin on Earth, who had never seen pussy in his life if cows wore panties. 90% of the paysites are in such a sorry state that not even the owners themselves would rebill out of loyalty. So I'm not prepared to take a paycut just because they fucking suck at relationship marketing and would, in reality, be much better suited to flip burgers.
