The Florida Marlins are stupid, stupid, stupid

How the hell do you fire a manager from a team that was supposed to lose 100 games this year, and he leads them to a season where they were in playoff contention until late September?!?!?!?!

All I can say is that this is good news for Girardi, who would have had to manage in Florida for two more years for peanuts. Now he'll get either the Cubs job, or possibly the Yankees job if Torre retires.

Stupid, stupid, stupid move by the Marlins.

word on the street is the cubbies don't want him because he couldn't get along with upper management. That being said he did do one hell of a job for the marlins.

If he comes to the Cubs he'll be fired in three years. The Cubs tend to make one surprise run once every several years and are a joke in between. There is no hope for the Cubs until I'd say 2010 or 2011.

If they had kept Alou, Nomar, traded Wood and made a few other minor moves they'd probably be headed to the playoffs right now.

It is what it is.

Why do you say that?

I think there's a good chance he retires this year, especially if the yanks win it all.
