Death Of A President

Did anybody in the UK see the airing of death of a president last night?
It was screened in USA a few months back at a film festival and recieved much controversy.

It is sent in 2007 and the assasination of George bush
Its really good the way everything is linked in and at times i had to keep telling myself its only a film, it really did at times seem real!

Was a great watch!

so bush will be assasinated in 2007! I bet there are some people in this world hoping for that

abz 10-10-2006 05:39 AM

I watched the first hour and fell asleep.....what happened???

topshelfdesign 10-10-2006 05:49 AM

It was a damn good, just a fictional film obviously, was based around some speech he was delivering in chicago i think, cant remember exactly was for Jobs, Economy and growth or something, there was a huge rally and the protestors broke the barrier and someone got their hand on to his presidential car, not sure if that was real footage or created for the film, as you dont actually see bush in the car.

They at first blamed a syrian, and then dick chaney who became the enw president wnated to bomb the hell out of them, over some grudge he has, because they believed some syrian group were behind it, turned out the syrian wasnt and he was kept on death row, it was the father of a black american soldier who was killed in Iraq who shot him, the father shot himself

Was screened at the Toronto Film Festival ( CANADA ) last month.

Major theatre chains ( movie houses ) are refusing to play it in the US.

sure

Movie houses are small, usually one or two screen theaters, that mainly play independant, classic, cult, and other controversial films. Theyre also used often as screening places in film festivals. For example I saw "freedom to fascism" and "Battle Royale" in movie houses. Two films that wouldnt be screened in a movie chain ever.

Movie chains are the large conglomerate toilets into which mass distributors excremate blockbusters year round. Although there are a few gems occasionally.

Only medium to large cities have movie houses (art house theaters). Im lucky. I didnt grow up in a shitty part of the states. People dont freak out about a work of fiction, and there are about 10 or 12 movie houses within a 15 mile diameter.

Yep, we had "The Naro Expanded Cinema"

Usually showed Rocky Horror on Saturday nights and had all kinds of independent stuff showing all the time. Never usually showed the mainstream crap. Once in a while an old horror flick like Psycho or something. Cool atmosphere.

It will probably have to be shown at a 'movie house' though. :winkwink:

carol.prime 10-10-2006 07:45 AM

Sounds interesting... will it be out in the international market for the rest of the world to see?

amazing some people will sit through an hour to hour and a half movie to see one part (the pres. assassination)... no thanks

topshelfdesign 10-10-2006 07:51 AM

Not sure what its release status will be
was shown on "more 4" in the UK not a major chanel at all!

It was gripping stuff, it was weird, ive wtached a few documentarys about sept 11th for example, and that feeling you get like wow thats how that happened, thats how they did this and planned that, I was getting through out watching this
times i ahd to take a second out and think damn its not real

it is really convincing

it was on for 2 hours
you dont actually see him be assasinated, its on documentary format
with unknown actors playing major US people such as secretary of state and the presidents script writter, they are looped into footage.

Its very well done and a great watch, not because its about bush getting shot but because its so convincing and real life

OG LennyT 10-10-2006 07:59 AM

meh, my mate went to the movie and said he was bored to tears

It will be on channel 4 soon. I missed it but heard good things about it and from the reviews I heard it was more of a 'what if' than something hoping Bush would be killed.

topshelfdesign 10-10-2006 08:22 AM

kool kool i hope it does air on c4 its a great docu-film

US film giants ban Death of a President

After its controversial premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, the documentary-style fiction film "Death of a President" will make its Chicago debut Oct. 27 at the Music Box Theatre.

pornguy 10-10-2006 09:09 AM
